Meeting at Istanbul Airport International Departures Turkish Airlines counter 3 hours before the flight. After passport and check-in procedures, departure for Sarajevo at 07:20 with Turkish Airlines scheduled flight TK1021. Following our arrival at local time 08:15, departure to Sarajevo city center with our vehicle waiting at the area. Sarajevo, the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a very important center specifically in the Balkans. The city is the meeting point of Roman Catholic peoples in the west, Eastern Orthodox peoples in the east, and Ottoman peoples in the south. Throughout history, while being an example of the clash of civilizations, it is also a beacon of hope for peace with its multiculturalism and tolerance. In the city, which is also known for its religious diversity, Muslims, Christians of various denominations, and Jews have lived together for centuries. Reflecting its vast historical diversity into its architecture, some points of the city resemble a Central European city, while at a different point a few streets away, it is possible to encounter the effects of Ottoman or Soviet-like socialist modernism. Upon our arrival at the center, during our walking city tour, we will see Vijecnica (Central Library), built as a town hall during the Austro-Hungarian Empire period but used as a national library today, Inat Kuca with its surprising story, the Bosna River, the Latin Bridge dating from the Ottoman period, and the exact spot where the Archduke of Austria-Hungary was shot, which was the spark that ignited World War I. Then we will proceed to Baščaršija, the historical center of Sarajevo, famous for its Ottoman-era cobblestone narrow streets, traditional bazaar, and historical mosques. In this region, it is possible to hear the call to prayer at the same time as passing by a church or synagogue. The Baščaršija Sebilj and Pigeon Square, the historical clock tower, the Sacred Heart Cathedral, and Morića Han, the only surviving Ottoman inn from the Ottoman period, are among the places we will see in the Baščaršija region. We will conclude our tour by also seeing the Eternal Flame (Vjecna Vatra), dedicated to the military and civilian losses that liberated Sarajevo in World War II. The monument consists of tiles with inscriptions in the colors of the former Yugoslav flag (blue, white, and red) and contains a copper vessel in the shape of a wreath of laurel leaves with an open flame burning continuously inside. Then our next stop will be Blagaj. In this historical town, we will see the Blagaj Tekke, built as a dervish lodge during the Ottoman period, located on the banks of the Buna River and surrounded by high cliffs, and you can have your lunch during the free time given on the banks of the Buna River. After the break, we will arrive in Mostar with a short journey. During our walking tour in the city established around the Neretva River, we will first see the Mostar Bridge. The bridge, a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture, is the symbol of the city. Although it was destroyed in the clashes towards the end of 1992, it was rebuilt in 2004 with the great contributions of the Republic of Turkey. The Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque will also be among the places seen during our tour. Free time after our tour. Transfer to our hotel at the time specified by our guide. Overnight at the hotel.
