In this open-air museum city, we will see the oldest cathedral in Spain, Toledo Cathedral (from the outside), churches converted from Andalusian mosques, and countless other wonders in the narrow historical streets. Seville, the capital of Andalusia, is our next stop. Seville is a city famous for its historical and cultural richness in the Andalusia region of Spain. During our city tour in Seville, located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, we will first see Maria Luisa Park, where Plaza de Espana is located, and Plaza America, the third largest cathedral in the world, Seville Cathedral (from the outside), which also houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus, the Giralda Minaret, the last remaining piece of the mosque on which the cathedral was built, which carries the memory of the Umayyad Caliphate of Andalusia, and the Alcazar (from the outside), the palace of the kings of Castile. Then, passing through the Indian Archives, where records of all sea voyages to the Americas were kept from the discovery until the 19th century, we will reach the old narrow streets of the Santa Cruz neighborhood, known as "old" Seville. At the end of our walk, after seeing the former tobacco factory used as the central campus of the University of Seville and the Torre del Oro, or Golden Tower, which is now a maritime museum, we will depart for Ecija after the tour. Our city tour begins upon our arrival. Ecija is a historical city located in the south of Spain, in the Andalusia region, and is connected to the province of Seville. Often referred to as the "Peacock of Andalusia" or the "City of Towers," Ecija is known for its rich baroque architecture and magnificent historical buildings. Known as "Astigi" during the Roman period, the city was one of the important centers of the Hispania Ulterior province. The city was also an important cultural and economic center during the Umayyad period of Andalusia. Today, walking through the streets of Ecija, one can feel a historical atmosphere filled with elegant palaces, churches, and high bell towers from the baroque period. Especially the Santa María and San Juan churches from the 18th century are among the most beautiful examples of baroque art. For travelers interested in history, art, and traditional Andalusian architecture, Ecija is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. While wandering through the narrow streets of the city, it is possible to find traces of both the Roman and Islamic periods. Transfer to our hotel after the tour. Overnight at the hotel.
